The name of this selection – literally, “Gentle Stones”- originates from a free translation of the word "Pialentou". These wines are the most prestigious "cuveés" of the domaine. Here the emphasis is on the production of wines for laying down, including those aged in barrels.

Les Gentilles Pierres red is made from Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Braucol for the local flavour. Each year part of the harvest is aged in French oak barrels for about 12 months. The remaining part is aged for 2 years in vats before being bottled.
Although powerful, these wines have soft tannins and are well balanced. They are ideal with red meat, game and blue cheese. They can be kept for 7 / 8 years.
The main grape in Les Gentilles Pierres dry white is the Sauvignon, with the addition of Mauzac, a local grape. The citrus and box tree aromas of the Sauvignon blend harmoniously with the hints of green apple and pears brought by the Mauzac. It is ideal with shellfish, fresh goat’s and ewe’s cheeses, or as an aperitif.

Les Gentilles Pierres sweet is made entirely from a selection of Mauzac harvested by hand in mid-October and fermented in new barrels. This rich and complex wine is only produced in small quantities. It is delicious with "foie gras", blue cheese or as an aperitif.
