Nestling between Aquitaine and Languedoc, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, the Pyrenees and the Massif Central, the vineyards of the South West remain unknown and unrecognised – justification in itself to discover them!
The vineyards of Gaillac reach along the valley and banks of the Tarn.
It owes its development to the foundation in the tenth century of the very powerful and influential Abbey of Saint Michel.
Domaine de Pialentou is located in Brens on the terraces of the left bank of the Tarn, the ancient home of the red wines of the Appellation Gaillac. Dating back to the late nineteenth century, Domaine de Pialentou is now a family estate run by the Gervais – Metcalfe family. Located on slopes of pebbles, silts and gravel, and facing west and north-west, its 12 hectares of vines enjoy one of the best exposures in the appellation.
